My family is currently on day 5 with our no TV during the month of August experiment. Thus far, it’s freed up a great deal of time for us to do things as a family and get some projects done around the house. But I have also found that my stress level has been noticeably higher during this time – it seems that TV watching for me was a way to unwind and relax. Now I’m in search of other ways to spend my time, and relax.
The New York Times looked into the daily habits of thousands of Americans and rounded up the results in a beautiful chart in ten-minute increments (click on the graph to view the interactive graph).
Sleeping, eating, working and watch television take up 2/3s of our average day!
Which leads to this question: how do these findings reflect your typical day? Does this mirror how you spend your time? Or your family?

I would say that it doesn't reflect my time. I also have time for exercise, being creative, and sitting or doing something with my hub. I have a teenage son at home and his friends are over quite a bit. While they are here, I'm usually hanging close by, just to keep in touch with what they are up too. I also read and spend time on personal development and spirituality.
I would say I spend less time eating just because I'm a fast eater, not necessarily a good thing. There are seasons with my work so some times in the year it would fill the chart more and others, not so much. I probably don't spend enough time with house hold chores, LOL! As far as TV goes, except for the show “House”, I woud rather listen to the radio or read.
Interesting that you are stressed. What are you doing now to de-stress? I would refer you to your post on doing nothing…. he he he. How about putting on some romantic music and asking Pam for a dance?
